Firefox 3 review
For my first review I’m going to be looking at my favourite piece of software, Firefox. Firefox is my favourite browser, its secure, fast and I like be able to add extensions to your browser. Finally, Firefox 3 beta has been launched, I’m going to give a you a quick review of Firefox 3 beta3.
Firefox is available for Windows, Mac and Linux. When you first load up Firefox, you will notice that it has been setup with a new feature called desktop integration. This means that whatever operating system you run Firefox 3 on, it will look like a native software for that operating system (you can see pictures of each different OS at the bottom of this post). My only complaint about the new look is the back button is much bigger than the forward button. However, this is only present on the Windows and Mac version.
When you start browsing the net, you notice how much faster it is than Firefox 2. Firefox 2 was quick compared to Internet Explorer, but this is far quicker. Even loading up Firefox is quicker. Another new feature I like is the way Firefox deals with passwords. Before, like many other browsers, it will ask you if you want the password saving, even before you login. So if you get the password wrong, it has saved the incorrect password. However, Firefox now asks you after the password is correct. The download manager has now been improved, the pause and resume download feature seems to work better.
A great feature Firefox 3 has been included with is better Malware protection, Firefox can now let users know about sites which may contain malware. Also, Firefox now has Anti-Virus built-in. Other great new features include, saving web pages as pdf files, installing extensions without restarting Firefox and full page zoom.
I have been using Firefox 3 for a few weeks now, I have really liked what they have done to Firefox. Its a far more safer and enjoyable browser to use. The only downside is that they have not including is being able to display all your web pages on one page, which Internet Explorer 7 can do. Apart from that, it is still a great browser to use. I would strongly recommend to everyone to use Firefox 3, but when it is fully released.

It is still not known when FF3 will be released. FF3 beta 5 is out this week, hopefully. The release candidate should be out a few weeks after. It will be out by the end of Q2 2008.
